**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of furniture products.
- Utilize route planning software and industry knowledge to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Train and mentor transportation staff to ensure high performance and adherence to policies and procedures
**Fleet Management**:
- Oversee and manage the transportation operations, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching of vehicles and drivers.
- Maintenance to address vehicle issues promptly ensuring they are well-maintained, properly serviced and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.
**Dispatch and Coordination**:
- Efficiently manage dispatch operations, ensuring that deliveries are scheduled and coordinated effectively.
- Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and other relevant departments to streamline transportation processes.
**Regulatory Compliance**:
- Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Monitor driver compliance with safety regulations and implement corrective actions when necessary. Monitor driver performance, including adherence to schedules, driving behaviour, and customer service
**Customer Service**:
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address delivery inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering products on time and in excellent condition.
**Inventory Management**:
- Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to coordinate the loading and unloading of furniture products.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses during transportation.
**Cost Management**:
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to secure favourable terms.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in transportation management in the furniture industry.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards and logistics processes.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with route planning software and logistics management tools.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
