**Location**:Nationwide Can be based in either Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester - Hybrid working 2 days office

**Salary**:Up to £37,000

**Summary**:
**Key responsibilities**:

- Identify performance issues and risks to delivery of capital commitments
- Understand reports and assure the smart motorway review actions that government has committed to ? including close-out of the smart motorways action plan commitments
- Managing reporting of programmes and progress against government?s review of the Smart Motorways programme, highlighting issues and monitoring risks
- Preparing, assuring and leading official bi-annual reporting
- Review and challenge all investment decision requests, supporting development of business cases and scheme requirements
- Lead development of year-end investment plan reports, covering all major areas of investment

**Skills and experience required**:

- **Experience in an Investment planning in transport, infrastructure, construction or an asset-based environment**.
- Ability to build relationships internally and externally stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent oral and written communication ? able to communicate technical issues at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, able to analyse & communicate complex information to assess & improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Able to make effective decisions through identifying the main issues in complex problems.
- Ability to influence change & encourage ideas from a wide range of sources and stakeholders.
- Actively build network of contacts to achieve progress on objectives and shared interests.
- Ability to manage a range of complex and sensitive work streams with tight deadlines
