Finance Support Officer

Scale 2/3 - £19,149 - £21,399 (Pro rata salary)

2 contracts available:

- 1 x permanent part time (18.5 hours per week - must include working Friday afternoons)
- 1x temporary full time (2 year fixed-term, 37 hours per week)

Enable North Yorkshire was announced in April 2019 and took over the management of business support services for North Yorkshire Police (NYP), North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services (NYFRS) and the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) in April 2020, comprising of People Services, ICT, Finance, Business Design & Assurance and Estates & Logistics. The vision is for a more strategic transformation of police and fire collaboration that can deliver genuine change, focussing on outcomes for the public rather than organisational sovereignty.

We have a fantastic opportunity for numerate and enthusiastic individuals who want to commence their career with our experienced Finance department. We are currently recruiting for two Finance Support Officers to join our busy and dynamic team. You will have demonstrable computer and IT skills as well as being proficient and pride yourself on accuracy and attention to detail.

Working closely with the Senior Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of transactional services and the control of data to ensure that all processes involved within Accounts Payable and Receivable activity are carried out effectively for the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Responsibilities will include:

- You will be the first point of contact for both telephone enquiries and correspondence and to provide an effective, efficient and courteous response
- To provide information and guidance on financial regulations and instructions to colleagues and customers as appropriate
- To ensure that transactions are processed in compliance with legislation and OPFCC, NYP and NYFRS’s regulations, policies and procedures in a timely manner
- To assist in the work of the development of controls to ensure accuracy and probity
- To ensure that data is accurately processed and input
- To complete correspondence and general administrative duties as required in accordance with OPFCC, NYP and NYFRS's regulations, policies and procedures
