**Job summary**:
We are seeking a focused and dynamic individual to work within Operational Service Management (OSM), part of the Defence Digital (DD) Operations (Ops) Directorate.

OSM is the enabling DD live service integration capability, providing service management across towers, underpinning tooling and IT operations processes. It is the foundation for Enterprise IT service management and integration (E-SIAM) and part of the Digital Backbone and within OSM resides the IT Controls function.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
You’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast paced and challenging environment and have an enthusiastic, collaborative and flexible approach. You’ll need to be able to affect and inspire others to deliver change and your experience of working with diverse stakeholders, will be key to realising the benefits of IT Controls.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Draft, maintain and release consumable IT Controls directives and guidance.
- Champion and drive campaigns across Defence to raise the awareness of IT Controls.
- Establish and maintain policies, a framework and underpinning standards that outline best practice IT Controls.
- Collaborate across DD, Defence and wider Government to maintain an understanding of current IT Controls trends and implement across Defence where appropriate.
- Act as first point of contact within DD Ops for IT Controls.
- Advise and guide across the digital enterprise on IT Controls best practice.
- Create and disseminate management information on the state of IT Controls.
- Cohere and underpin IT Controls within relevant policies.
- Act as IT Controls SME and, when requested, undertake Chief of staff functions within a cyber defence Task Force.
- Support the onboarding of digital services into the OSM integrated service management environment.
- This role may have line management responsibilities in the future.

**Person specification**:
This position may be suitable for individuals with relevant skills and experience or progression from previous IT Controls or other SIAM-related roles or suitable for individuals with appropriate skills gained in a different environment, such as IT security management, risk management, change management or project management.

Desirable qualifications, accreditation or memberships:

- ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation - (training available to gain in post, if required)
- SIAM foundation course

Dependent on the business need, there may be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK (or potentially occasional overseas visits).

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working from home as a personal choice (if the role is suitable for this). If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
