An exciting opportunity has been made available to join the Santander UK bank as a Senior Manager within the T&O Infrastructure and Service Operations organisation of Santander UK where you will provide leadership and coordination of staff and services within the IT Lifecycle (Obsolescence) Management team.

This role is essential to ensuring risk associated with obsolete hardware & software components is well understood, reported and managed to limit associated risk to Bank-wide operations and capabilities.

This role will drive the analysis and subsequent development of strategies to successfully manage the IT lifecycle of software and hardware components that support Santander. You will proactively monitor and control initiative progress to plan, including identifying risks and issues and confirming benefits and associated KPIs.

Providing technical expertise in the co-ordination, design and implementation of robust obsolescence management strategies and solutions, continuously developing obsolescence management capabilities to manage the associated risk and fulfil the strategy and services of Santander UK.

Tracking and driving improvements to agreed mobilised obsolescence management strategies to ensure effective and efficient delivery.

What you’ll bring.

Extensive IT technical knowledge & experience including architectural concepts, design and implementation approaches.

Thorough understanding of typical software and hardware layers (e.g. servers, storage, hypervisors, networks, operating systems, databases) and their interdependencies along with mechanisms for suitably addressing associated obsolescence.

It would also be nice for you to have.

Previous experience in Project Management role related to remediation of obsolescence.

Experience of managing cross-functional technical teams in a matrixed organisation, setting tasks and objectives and delivering formal appraisals as required.

Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to conceptualise complex and highly technical issues and communicate them effectively

Strong interpersonal skills - persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables.

What else you need to know.

This is a permanent role to be based at our Milton Keynes site, although there is some flexibility to work remote/from home.

There is an expectation initially that you would attend/work from the office in Milton Keynes 2 days per week, or as agreed with your Line Manager.
