We are proud to be working with an established multi-disciplinary service provider seeking a management accountant. The company specialises in civils, maintenance, and engineering services. They are a major supplier to the Railway Industry and now seek anambitious and professional management accountant to join them at their North-West London offices. You will report to and work closely with the Finance Director. The small finance department consists of the Financial Controller, an accountant, accounts assistant,purchase ledger controller etc. You will be a very important and a senior member of the team. This is a company who value their staff and this position is a vital one for them. You will work closely with the Finance Director to make sure all monthly accountsare delivered on time and accurately to the board of directors. To do this well your skills will centre on your bookkeeping ability with regards to debits and credits. You will not have to assess risk on any of the projects. **Main Purpose of the role**: The purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation and distribution of financial information, satisfying the organizations internal financial reporting needs. Role and Responsibilities As a Management Accountant you will be involved with - Preparation of monthly accounts and to develop a strong understanding of the accounts. - Meeting monthly cost Role and Responsibilities deadline - Review of weekly cash flow and balances - Review of monthly reconciliations (both balance sheet and contract reconciliations for all group companies) - Maintenance and/or review of companies fixed asset register - Preparation/review of VAT Returns. - Assist in checking purchase ledger payment runs. - Liaise with members in other cost centres to support and develop relationships across the company. - Complete ad hoc activities as may be required by the Finance Controller - Identifying and recommending improvements to procedures and systems, in order to improve profitability - To champion a "team spirit" that supports the company values and encourages fun and professionalism
