Mdt Arthroplasty/arthroscopy Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the Arthroplasty team as an MDT Co-Ordinator at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
An ability to work autonomously and to respond quickly to requests is required in addition to the ability to use your own initiative.
The post holder will work with clinical information staff, clinical teams across the Trust, Directorate staff and Support Services, for example, Radiology and Pathology.
The post holder will support Directorate staff in coordinating, tracking, and organising multi-disciplinary team meetings for cancer patients. An essential part of the role will be the collection of data relating to the patient’s journey.
The critical elements will be working to deadlines, investigating the patients' pathway, having an appreciation of the importance of data quality, and managing a varied workload.

MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION
- To act as an ambassador for the Complex Arthroplasty MDT and within the Trust and across the region representing the Trust as a Major Revision Centre
- To create an environment in which staff are valued, respected and motivated to achieve team and individual objectives
- To facilitate excellent communication and build effective and respectful working relationships within the team and with the patient specialties
- To be fully accessible to act as a contact for internal and external cancer queries and complaints and implement a clear structure for escalation from your team to you
- The role will entail providing and receiving medically sensitive information in relation to patient on-going medically history and treatment of their orthopaedic concerns as such the post holder is expected to liaise with both patients and clinical professional both within and external to the Trust. The post holder will be required to be well versed with empathetic and re-assuring abilities due nature of the medical information.

- Responsible for the purchase of some physical assets or supplies
Staff Management and Development
- Responsible for day-to-day management of a group of teams of MDT Co-ordinators, and MDT Team members as required, developing and supporting the team to ensure that departmental goals are achieved and maintained
- To encourage the development of any staff directly managed to their full potential through annual individual performance review and the establishment of personal development plans, reflecting the needs of the organisation and the individual
- To promote good two-way communication by arranging regular one-to-one meetings with staff, ensuring regular objective setting and review and organising team-building sessions and away days
- To manage sickness, disciplinary and performance issues in line with Trust HR policies
- To ensure staff records are kept and maintained in conjunction with Trust policy
Training
In conjunction with relevant professionals, to develop a comprehensive, training programme for all staff within the remit to ensure they are adequately skilled to undertake their roles effectively
To produce best practice training guidelines and deliver internal training for all relevant Trust staff, including clinicians and managers, as appropriate
To ensure that all staff with the remit participate in both Trust and departmental induction programmes, including attendance at mandatory training and to ensure appropriate records of attendance are kept
Through staff appraisals, team meetings and observations, recommend appropriate training and development options for staff
