We are recruiting Clinical Team Leaders for our Hunters Moor site - specialising in Level 2 Neurological Rehabilitation and Neuro Behavioural Services in Birmingham.

Hunters Moor accommodates 42 patients requiring neurorehabilitation which may include complex physical rehabilitation needs.

Specialist Nurses are able to provide care to those with ongoing neurological nursing needs including respiratory and tracheostomy care, diabetes, epilepsy, wound management, stoma care, enteral feeding and management of long term intravenous access points.

** This is a Monday to Friday / 9-5pm role - flexibility will be required to manage nursing team needs **

The role of the Clinical Team Leader is to provide clinical leadership to nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality care to the patients across the service.
- As Clinical Team leader you will support and undertake, where needed, the assessment, planning and provision of specialist nursing advice and carry out specialist nursing procedures.
- You will be responsible for providing nursing support, leadership, advice and guidance to members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of care are provided to all patients at all times with specific responsibilities for the mental health and physical well-being of patients across the unit.
- To be an active participant in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilizing appropriate assessments, liaising effectively with MDT to assess and manage risks identified through assessment of patients.
- To regularly review risk factors and work in conjunction with the MDT to modify care plans as appropriate
- Take Charge of the clinical area
- Support nursing colleagues with advice and guidance regarding care planning and management of patient’s mental health and physical conditions.
- Ensuring the individual needs of residents are met, providing opportunities for individuals to use their skills and enhance their quality of life, whilst maintaining their independence and privacy.
- Ensure the effective supervision and development of all staff, including acting as a mentor/preceptor to students/support workers as appropriate.
- Take a lead on developing and maintaining communication with patient’s relatives, families and carers, to support them to support patients’ goals.
- Adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour period.
- Working within the NMC code of conduct and scope of practice, as well as Group policies and procedures to deliver & lead high quality care using a person centered approach.
- Experienced and competent in the management of patients with diverse complex needs

Management of those with epilepsy would be an advantage.
- Experience of coaching others particularly related to improving service quality.
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment

Required
- RGN, RMN, RLD Nurse with experience of a Neurological setting or Neurological Rehabilitation Unit
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional development & Experience of managing a diverse team
- Passionate about providing high quality care.
- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
- Ability to work independently.
- A legal right to work in the U.K.
