A Specialist School just outside Bournemouth is looking to appoint outstanding graduates for a number of Learning Support Assistant positions for an immediate start.

Graduate Learning Support Assistant roles at this schools offers a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Teachers or to those considering a career in Education. They will help you to gain practical school based experience, training and development in a specialeducational needs school.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

This school was opened with the key aim to offer full academic, social, and developmental support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Helth needs.

The School aims to create an environment in which students can achieve their maximum potential, gain independence and social awareness so that they can enjoy and participate in the world of work and adult society along with their mainstream peers.

The School caters for pupils who are secondary age. You will support students either in small groups or one to one with the support of a full trained SEN Tutor/Teacher. The aim of the school is to develop confident, independent and social learners who onceschool have the skills and ability to become an active member of their community.

Successful graduates will join a small and supportive team who are fully trained and experienced in supporting students with Autism and Learning Disabilities. The school offers excellent CPD training to all new starters to help you grow in to the role andbe the best support to the students that you can possibly be.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- Working closely with the Class Teacher and Autism Supervisors, Therapists and other teaching professionals
- Implementing personalised learning plans for each student in or outside of lessons
- Assisting the Class Teacher with planning lessons and resources
- Taking on responsibility for specific longer term or shorter term projects in class
- Support the Class Teacher by monitoring and assessing students’ progress. You will then be responsible for recording and reporting development to SEN professionals.

- Genuine and demonstrable interest in working with young people and education.
- Commitment to achievement for all, regardless of background or ability.
- Excellent literacy and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, initiative, resilience and pro-activity.
- Willingness to learn and participate in a dynamic educational setting.
- Ability to be a role-model to young people.
- No prior teaching, educational training / qualification necessary. Full training and guidance will be provided. Experience of working with young people would be a bonus._

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
