An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NELFT Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service.

Due to a growing number of Occupational Therapy Apprentices in the service we now require further Occupational Therapy Assistant cover to support the Ward Occupational Therapist.

This role is a 2-year part time (18.75 hours per week) fixed term contract.

This role provides an ideal opportunity for you to develop your skills and understanding of Occupational Therapy and would be ideal for anyone considering a career in Occupational Therapy.

Occupational Therapy Assistants work with multi-disciplinary teams contributing their unique knowledge and skills, supporting service users to increase their independence and achieve their personal goals while supporting recovery and social inclusion.

Within this service you will have the opportunity to work with service users throughout the acute mental health care pathway, supporting the provision of specialist OT assessment and interventions to service users as inpatients, in the community and in their homes.

You will work alongside Occupational Therapists and other OT Assistants and Apprentices to provide a recovery focussed occupational therapy service including 1:1 and group work.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).
