**Characteristics of the position.**
We are here to provide our guests with excellent service whilst serving and preparing high quality food and drink in a clean, safe and welcoming environment. This should include looking after your work section in terms of presentation and stocking levels.
We are here for hospitality - that is our business. Everything we do should revolve around being hospitable to all our guests, colleagues and business partners.

**Performance Area Duties.**
**Service**
- Ensure guests and colleagues are always treated with professionalism. Polite, courteous and friendly behaviour must be always demonstrated towards both.
- To prepare and serve food and beverages to a high standard in line with Company and brand specifications.
- Ensure all crockery items and glasses are in good condition before being used for service in the unit.
- Ensure product knowledge is of high level to assist guest enquiries (especially allergens). This will require updating of product knowledge on regular basis and when the menu changes.
- To be able to work under pressure during peak times in a calm manner and help our in other areas when necessary.
- Attempt to upsell products to guests through suggestive selling and sharing of product knowledge.
**Work Section**
- Open and close your work section in accordance with the unit’s opening and closing procedures.
- To assist in keeping a full and attractive work section/ product display. Ensure rotation of stock following the “FIFO” (First in First Out) rule.
- Always ensure good stocking levels for all products, drinks, and disposable.
- Assist with deliveries as required.
- Ensure all equipment and furniture are always in good working condition and report any operational problem to the manager on the duty.
- Ensure all equipment is always operated and cleaned in accordance with Company’s instructions.
- Ensure all price labels are always in good condition and showing the correct price.
- Ensure any commercial documentation is always available on display.
- Ensure the takeaway coffee or condiment station is always clean and fully stocked.
- If applicable, ensure the wastage sheet is always correctly completed and returned to the manager on duty upon closing.
- If applicable, ensure all fridge temperatures are always correctly recorded.
**Cash handling**
- Operation of an automated / manual cash register and responsibility for money handling and deposit in full compliance with Company policy (cash handling policy) and company regulations.
**Clearing and Cleaning Activities**
- To maintain high levels of cleanliness in the unit and assist in routine cleaning of assigned work section.
- Collecting and storing wastage in the prescribed manner as per on site instructions.
- Adhere to all instructions regarding Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards in accordance with current legislation to include any updates in government advisory measures.
- Responsible for using correct cleaning product in the indicated manner for cleaning equipment in line with Company and/or manufacturer set requirements.
- Ensure correct use of Personal Protective Equipment whenever necessary and in accordance with COSHH guidelines.
**Teamwork**
- Work in tandem with work colleagues in order to provide guests with the most efficient service.
- Communicate efficiently with work colleagues to ensure full availability of products throughout the day.
- Communicate with the manager on duty to ensure waiting time is kept to a minimum.
- Develop good communication with work colleagues to help maintain team spirit.
**Other Activities.**
- Comply with all further reasonable instructions received by your line managers in the interest of the business but also Health & Safety and Food Safety.
- Adhere to regulations regarding selling alcohol as per alcohol training.
- Attend all meetings and training sessions as required by your line managers and the Company.
- Always maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with both Company set requirements and Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations.

Part-time hours: 10-45 per week
**Salary**: £7.00-£11.00 per hour
