**Role Title**: Ambulance Drivers

**Pay**: £10.50 - £15 per hour

QCM Healthcare Transport Limited is a private ambulance company that provides patient transport services on behalf of the NHS and other private companies.

Working as a driver, you will transport, locally and nationally people with physical and/or psychological disabilities, mental health conditions and elderly and other vulnerable individuals to and from hospitals and clinics.

The post-holder will work under the supervision of a senior member of the team or manager, participating in the development and maintenance of high quality, personalised care. In collaboration with the team and patients you will be actively involved in delivering, monitoring and evaluating care and managing risk.

You will provide patients with safe, comfortable and on time transfers and a friendly smile with an encouraging approach, you will make a real difference to the patients that you help, giving them a much-needed boost at what can be a stressful time to the patients.

Due to continued expansion, QCM Healthcare Transport Limited are now looking to recruit a number of (Zero Hours) Bank Secure Ambulance Drivers to be based in the Colchester area.

Applications from local areas will be accepted, providing travel time to our base is no more than 45 minutes.

Our Secure Ambulance Drivers will be required to work variable hours over a flexible 7 day rota, 365 days a year.

**Main expectations**

**Duties will include following training;**
- Administering basic first aid and oxygen as required during course of work
- Completing all necessary vehicle and journey documentation
- Ensuring that the home environment is adequately secured after the departure of the patient and upon their return
- Report facts concerning accidents or incidents to hospital personnel or law enforcement officials
- Earn and maintain appropriate certifications and medical certificates
- Ensure the vehicle and associated equipment is in a safe and clean condition at all times, reporting any defects to the appropriate manager
- Understand that the patients you deal need to be handled with care and dignity at all times.
- When dealing with patients from the Mental Health community you need to ensure knowledge of correct laws and procedure are followed.
- A careful and considerate driver.
- Will be a manual driver (vehicles are manual)
- Have an understanding of patients' abilities (conditions/ limitations)
- Have good people skills with a polite and friendly manner
- Be physically fit, as you will be required to move patients
- A full driving licence (no more than 3 points)
- Drivers must have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years
- An enhanced disclosure check is required (DBS/CRB).This cost will be covered by the employer
- Able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references covering a 5 year period.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £10.50-£15.00 per hour
