We are currently recruiting for a hugely successful Consultancy / Project Management company who are looking for a Principal Designer / CDM Consultant to expand their CDM Compliance Team at the Stoke office.
Our client has just been acquired by an International Group, which has allowed them to go from a 30 head count business, to an 800 strong entity who has a large presence in the USA and looking to continue to grow their UK market - so a fantastic time to be joining an ever expanding and award winning company.
You will work on a number of high profile schemes across the Industrial & Logistics and Strategic Land & Infrastructure teams and will require you to directly support the Surveying Team in undertaking Health & Safety site inspections, as well as complying with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
The role will be supported by Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, and you will be an integral part to the process of the Projects. They provide a dynamic environment, where you are encouraged to bring ideas to the table, be self-sufficient and make your own stamp on the role.
Key Duties;
- Attend design review meetings, challenge designers to design out risk during the design phase, and maintain design risk registers.
- Review Construction Phase Plans and RAMS from Principal Contractors, and report results to the Client.
- Review RAMS for non-CDM projects.
- Provide CDM Advisor services to the Client during the Construction Phase.
- Carry out CDM Welfare check visits to construction sites.
- Work with the Principal Contractor to ensure that a suitable Health & Safety File is prepared at completion of the Construction Phase.
- Upload all final versions of documents onto shared data environments.
**Qualifications / Knowledge Required;**
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Project Management or similar technical discipline.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Accredited membership of APS.
- IOSH Membership - Tech minimum.
- The job entails nationwide site visits, therefore a full driving licence is a requirement.
- Knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Understanding of CDM 2015 and Construction Health and Safety.
- Preferably at least three years’ experience in similar H&S role.
- Flexible and efficient approach to the implementation of CDM and a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude.
