Are you an experienced Principal/Lead/Senior Protection & Control Engineer with experience in the energy sector? We are looking to bring on board a Senior Principal Protection & Control Engineer. Being part of our P&C community offers opportunities to work on a variety of projects across multiple technical disciplines with clients nationwide. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes. You will lead and collaborate with a team on projects up to 400kV, taking them from concept through detailed design and supporting construction and energisation. Ideally, you will have experience with key T&D clients in the UK. You’ll also have the chance to work on projects focused on innovation, standardisation, technology assessment, and collaboration with our suppliers on new products and services. You will join a growing and collaborative team, partnering with various clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. Your Role Develop scoping documentation and Main Connections & Protection Diagrams. Review Protection & Control Designs developed by third parties. Specify P&C related equipment and plant such as relays, CTs, and VTs. Produce detailed designs including AC/DC schematics. Conduct protection grading studies; produce relay files and settings. Review Commissioning Plans and attend Commissioning Panel meetings. Stantec Energy Transition – UK About You Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field. Experience working on Distribution Networks as a Senior/Principal Protection & Control Design Engineer. Knowledge and experience with protection relays and relay panels, CT & VT sizing calculations, protection grading studies, and producing detailed AC/DC drawings. Familiarity with UK electrical practices and standards and an understanding/appreciation of CDM regulations. High regard for safety with demonstrable experience in risk mitigation.
