Job description

OCL Solicitors is a rapidly expanding law firm dealing largely in Road Traffic Accident Litigation and are looking to expand our Litigation team within the Credit Hire department.

This opportunity gives you the chance to work for a specialist personal injury law firm which has great scope for internal progression, multiple staff benefits and the chance to earn additional bonus.

This role is fast paced but requires attention to detail as you will be dealing with multiple cases with different scenarios. Within this role, you will be responsible for identifying the most suitable method of settling a mixed caseload Small Claims Track, Fast Track and Multi Track claims. Previous experience of working within a similar role is needed for this position.
- Experience dealing with Road Traffic Accident claims handling
- Previous experience working in the Insurance or Legal industry
- Have strong customer service skills
- Have a very good understanding Pre Action Protocol
- Knowledge and understanding of CPR
- Previous litigation experience
- Knowledge of P36 offers and the cost consequences
- Ability to learn fast and efficiently in a professional environment.
- Ability to manage a large work load.
- Ability to manage your own diary and task list to ensure that you work efficiently and effectively on your own.
- A high standard of English/grammatical skills.
- A confident phone manner.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing your own caseload of RTA cases
- Communicating with Clients, Insurers, Solicitors and others to discuss claim progress
- Making informed decisions on quantum/liability;
- Providing sound advice to clients on the best course of action;
- Complying with agreed service standards;
- Dealing with administration as required.
- Ability to use a case management system.
- Negotiating with third party solicitors to achieve settlement before litigation.

- _Assess case prospects for credit hire litigation and civil litigation generally_
- _Engage in party to party negotiation_
- _Draft witness statements and prepare evidence_
- _Effectively case manage a matter to trial_
- _Brief Counsel_

The hours required to work for this role are Monday to Friday - 9am - 5:30pm.

You will have the opportunity to be awarded a monthly attendance bonus of £100 plus an additional £200 every 6 months providing you have a 100% attendance record.
