South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust has a rich history, well-established community links and an international reputation. We provide a full range of local mental health services to the Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth London boroughs, as well as specialist forensic mental health services, including high secure services, at Springfield Hospital.

**About the team**:
The Liaison and Diversion service (L&D) for South West London and St Georges ( SWLSTG) provides a range of services within the Criminal Justice Pathway including identification, screening and assessment and where appropriate will facilitate diversion from custody to the least restrictive setting. The L&D model is an all age and vulnerabilities model and as a service we aim to improve health outcomes for mentally disordered offenders through early identification and screening and by providing interventions that facilitate timely and appropriate pathways to care.

We are looking for a mental health professional to join our dedicated and dynamic team in providing safe and effective care within a Criminal Justice System setting. Specifically, we are looking for someone enthusiastic, motivated and experienced, who can work in a team as well as autonomously. As a member of the L&D team, you will complete mental health assessments and provide assessment outcomes in written and/or verbal form to criminal justice system partners, liaise with other services and contribute to the effective functioning of an assessment and liaison service.

The successful applicant will work on a rota system with other Band 6 colleagues, covering both Wandsworth Custody Suite and Wimbledon Magistrates Court and will be expected to work unsocial hours including weekends and bank holidays.

The L&D team work in police custody suites and courts and the team base is at Springfield hospital.

Part of the role is at Wandsworth Custody Suite which on Wandsworth High Street, easily accessible from Clapham Junction train station by bus or is a short walk from Wandsworth Town train station. There are many local shops nearby and a good bus network.

Wimbledon Magistrates Court is in the borough of Merton, close to Wimbledon Station where train, tube and tram links can be found. Again, there are multiple shops and restaurants within easy reach.

Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafés, restaurants etc.
