Mental Health Practitioner – Forensic Liaison & Diversion Service at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust About the Service The Forensic Liaison & Diversion (L&D) service provides early intervention for vulnerable individuals who come into contact with the criminal justice system, aiming to improve health outcomes and reduce re‑offending. Key Responsibilities Work on a rota with other Band 6 colleagues covering Wandsworth Police Custody Suite and Wimbledon Magistrates Court. Provide support to individuals at the early stages of the criminal justice pathway, including assessment, intervention and facilitation of diversion or referral to health/social care. Work unsocial hours, including weekends and bank holidays. Maintain accurate records and comply with service governance and quality standards. Requirements Qualified mental health practitioner (e.g., psychiatric nurse/psychologist) with experience in a forensic or community setting. Successful Police Vetting (Metropolitan Police) – requires residency in the UK for at least 3 years, no unreported convictions, no county court judgements, no outstanding defaults, and no convictions resulting in imprisonment or a suspended sentence. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
