The role requires developed skills in communications and influencing, work organisation, prioritisation, and problem solving together with relevant technical understanding and experience of credit control and book-keeping. **The role is directly accountable for**: - Collection of debt to target and in accord with policy - Timely identification of invoice issues, delays and queries - Identifying decision makers in customers and brokers finance departments - Developing relationships with customers, sales account managers and brokers where relevant to ensure understanding of payment terms and processes and to facilitate best cooperation - Oversight of payments planned and received and to check postings and allocations are correct and timely - Pro-active advice to customers on how to pay their accounts. - Review of risk of default of debtors and report exceptions - Identification, reporting and remediation (if possible) of any behavours or incidents that do not meet regulatory or policy requirements with special attention to sanctions, anti-money laundering, and KYC rules - Ensuring a good working relationship with customers to facilitate trust and cooperation **Accountabilities & Activities**: - Accountable for the integrity of customer balances for the job holder's portfolio. - Ensuring effective controls and reports relating to own portfolio - Resolve any queries against an SLA of 48 hours. - Working directly with internal and external auditors in the provision of records and sles, together with accurate responses to specific questions and queries as needed. - On own initiative, report process, people and systems issues that impact the smooth performance of the collection activity and raise relevant Incidents in line with policy - Work within project teams for the development of the business and/ or the function if required - In conjunction with the AR team and Sales/ Operations support ensure accurate reconciliation of customer balances and statements of account exist and can be provided to sales and support functions, brokers and customers as needed. - Provide accurate debtors lists to partners in BG as needed in order to support collections activity - Ensure understanding and compliance to relevant financial controls, BG Policies, regulations relating to relevant jurisdictions, and with particular reference to those key regulations - PCI DSS, anti-money laundering, governmental and / or bank sanctions, licence related restrictions, and general handling of client monies. - Support other Credit Controllers as needed - Review debtors portfolios at least weekly and act on overdues or potential overdues - Identify and report red flags for potential customer failure - Support and contribute to the creation of a "risk list" from which bad and doubtful debt provisions may be derived **Why Bupa?** We're a health insurer and provider.
