**Positive Employment** is currently recruiting for a Rent Account Officer for our client based in Haringey.

The successful post holder will manage and control the entire debit/credit control function of the Rent Accounting system, in accordance with the Council’s audit and accounting practices.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Be responsible for the updating of the OHMS system in respect of originations, lettings, voiding, Tenancy Amendments, deletions, changes to debit, credit/debit transfers, creating new properties and any other amendments in that area.
- Manage and control the debit control function in respect of the Temp Accommodation properties, liaise with Housing Associations and the Housing Supply Group on the acquisitions of such properties for homeless clients.
- Obtaining info from external agencies and new charge payers and tenants to enable accounts to be set up correctly and accurately and to ensure the records are complete.
- Provide advice to Tenancy Management Officers, Income Collection Officers, Neighbourhood Housing Managers, Housing Managers, Benefits, Councillors, Board members and other internal and external agencies on matters of good practice and procedure as regards the rent accounting function.
- To be a regular user of the Homes for Haringey’s computerised rent accounting system: (a)Using a computer to process enquiries. Preparation of information for report purposes. (b) Keeping abreast of current computer operations and undergoing training as necessary as a user of the database including all relevant modules. Analysing and interpreting data, reporting anomalies and identifying potential enhancements.
- Ensure the efficiency and probity of all submissions to the database liaising with, and advising any anomalies to other Homes for Haringey services e.g. area offices and external agencies where necessary.
- Process, monitor and keep some manual records for all originations and lettings for properties plus Garages. Scan all documents for voiding, deletions, for properties and garages to the system.

**Personal Requirements**:

- Knowledge of accounting and budgetary routines.
- Previous experience in a financial environment.
- Experience of using computers, including the use of word processing and spreadsheet packages.
- Some Banking knowledge would be useful.
- Ability to learn new technology as systems used are OHMS, SAP, Iworld, Comino & Webpay.
- Ability to use Outlook and MS Excel to a good standard.
- Enhanced DBS.
- 3 Years References.

**WORKING HOURS AND RATE**:

- 09:00 am - 17:00 pm / Mon - Fri
- Rate: £18.88 p/h

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £18.88 per hour
