We are delighted to be in a position to advertise for a full-time Team Leader within the Children's Community Nursing Services Team, part of Evelina Community Services.
This role demands excellent interpersonal management skills, team working, problem-solving abilities and initiative. The post-holder will be integral to the smooth running of the service as well as service and staff development. The post holder will support the Assistant Service Manager, Service Manager, and other members of the Service Management Team; such as the Clinical staff and Matron.
The role will require the individual to interact with a multi-disciplinary team in a very busy office environment, dealing with highly complex and sensitive issues, often requiring appropriate judgements to be made under mínimal supervision.
The post-holder will be expected to work on-site at Sunshine House, SE5 8UH
Key duties include organising team meetings, data coordination, reporting and arranging all core business for the team. You will play a fundamental role in managing the day to day operations of the team and liaising with management. You will be key to the smooth running of the team.

You will demonstrate the ability to work efficiently, supporting colleagues, setting up and supporting admin systems as well as reporting on and monitoring performance data.
You have strong working knowledge of computer systems and databases, in particular Excel and Outlook, and consistently demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will be proactive with a “can do” attitude and a commitment to high quality performance; recognising the benefits of innovation and adaptability in a changing NHS environment.
You will be in possession of strong interpersonal and leadership qualities, good written and verbal communication and administration skills with the ability to work flexibly within a fast paced, challenging environment.
You will have the ability to take accurate minutes at meetings.
You will have experience leading a team and possess strong inter-personal and leadership qualities.
The Children's Community Nursing Service manage a range of acute/ short term/ complex needs and palliative childhood conditions. A dynamic team of highly skilled nurses facilitate early discharge of children from hospital as well as prevent hospital admissions and ED attendance. Children benefit from the expertise of the hospital through an acute pathway of care into the primary care setting, enabling children, young people and families to safely manage their health needs in the comfort and safety of their own home and educational settings. The service operates 7 days a week 08.00hr-22.00hr taking direct referrals via a single point of access from hospitals, GP’s and the wider MDT.
The Children’s Community Nursing Service is comprised of 6 sub-teams:

- Children’s Community Nursing Team (CCNT)
- Continuing Care
- Complex Needs School Nursing
- Continence
- Patch Children’s Community Nursing (Patch CCN).

Main Responsibilities
Lead the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and efficient administrative service.
Organise and administer meetings, taking comprehensive minutes and ensuring timely dispatch of papers, highlighting actions.
Provide PA support including diary management and arranging meetings and appointments via the calendar system with both external and internal personnel.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the team and ensure that that staff are managed in line with Trust Policies.
Review and report on staff performance, working with individuals to set clear standards and objectives, identifying training and development needs as well as performance/conduct issues as appropriate.
Motivate and support staff so that they understand the objectives of the service within which they work and are able to maximise their contribution to the highest standard of patient care.
Prepare and produce reports/spreadsheets, presentations and other documents as requested using the format required by the team.
Prepare acknowledgement letters and draft replies where required.
Make travel arrangements, booking venues and catering arrangements for meetings and conferences.
Cover full PA and secretarial support to named individuals when required.
Support in the implementation of projects, with mínimal supervision to agreed goals and agreed timescales.
- Provide advice and support to new or less experienced employees on own administrative duties.
- Maintain departmental databases in a timely and accurate manner. Assist with the collation of data as required.

Provide excellent customer care to ensure timely, relevant advice and assistance to all GSTT service users.
