Our client hasan exciting opportunity for an innovative and energetic **Building Facilities Manager** to join their Data Centre in **London.** You will join them on a **full time, permanent basis**, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£60,000 - £65,000 per annum+ excellent benefits** **(travel allowance, bonus scheme, pension, health insurance).**
The Company is the pioneering data centre colocation provider, an owner operator of Tier III data centres, connectivity and managed ICT solutions to over 2000 market leading corporations around the world. In the UK their Docklands data centre campus facilitatesthe majority of the London Internet Exchange’s (LINX) capacity, meaning that they support a huge proportion of all UK internet traffic, making their Docklands campus a globally important internet hub.
**Building Facilities ManagerOverview**:
The key objective of the role is to lead a team of Building Managers who have full ownership of the DC’s (excluding critical plant) and create a high performing culture within which they achieve operational excellence. Their ownership encompasses everythingfrom the physical building fabric to the coffee machines in the occupied office space, so they have high workloads which the DC Buildings Manager needs to lead them in planning and prioritising.
The Building Management Team are responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the buildings, including efficiency, quality and fabric across the site, ensuring that all buildings are maintained in compliance with industry best practice, legislationand relevant ISO standards and that they are energy efficient. This includes (but is not limited to)
- Water management (L8)
- LOLER
- Fire detection, systems and suppression; Fire risk assessments
- Fuel management & Environmental (EA)
- HSE - Health and Safety
- Fixed Wire Testing and remedial actions
- Noise assessments and associated PPE
- Roof access and associated controls
- Regulations relating to electricity, asbestos, legionella, ground contamination, etc
- ISOs: ISO 9001; ISO27001; ISO22301; ISO 50001;ISO 14001; ISO 45001,
- BS OHSAS 18001 H&S
**Responsibilities of the Building Facilities Manager role**:
- Taking ownership of building management projects aiming at continuous improvement of service quality and environment and managing the associated procurement processes and budgetary requirements. The expectation is 100% delivery of assigned projects/Capex/Opex,detailed reporting and future planning and forecasting.
- Working in conjunction with Risk & Compliance to define and oversee site strategy, policy and procedures for all buildings to ensure compliance with all legislation.
- Overseeing of subcontractors and the surrounding H&S within the works commissioned by the Building Management Team, and the correct management of all assets relating to the BMT scope such as fire doors, water access, emergency lights etc.
- Being responsible for the effective management of all Building Supervisors including development plans, performance management, appraisals, training and recruitment. This is to include team meetings, 1:1’s and all associated follow up actions.
**Essential Qualifications and Experienceneeded to become their Building Facilities Manager**:
- Environment building management, service delivery and infrastructure, and managing teams
- Experience of service delivery within critical environments
- PC literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to analyse data
- Excellent proven reporting skills and ability to draw fact-based conclusions, then act on the evidence
- Extensive knowledge of compliance and various standards, and evidence of the previous achievement in this area
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and familiarity with audits, plus evidence of success in meeting requirements
- Collaborative approachability to work effectively with internal stakeholders to motivate and effectively manage key suppliers
- Sound analytical skills, good problem solver
