Maintenance Assistant

Job Introduction
As **Maintenance Assistant **at Sodexo **Wythenshawe Hospital & Buccleuch Lodge Withington**, you will be the go-to person, the one with the answers to everyone's questions, and the one who knows how to keep the facilities operating smoothly. You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Hospital estate. **What you’ll do**:

- Respond to planned and unplanned maintenance within the hospital estate, carrying out a range of repairs and new works to a high standard.
- Gutter and Gulley clearance duties as directed by the supervisor/chargehand.
- Bad weather response (snow and ice clearance and gritting)
- Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace
- Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff

**What you bring**:

- A current driving licence
- Knowledge & understanding of repairs for roofs, groundwork, patch painting/plastering, and building systems in a healthcare setting.
- Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
- Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills
- Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure

**We are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant**

**As a crucial member of our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities. Your dedication to upkeep and maintenance will directly contribute to the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our hospital.**
- 40 Hrs per week - Monday to Friday
- £12.75 per hour
