**Job Title**: Baggage Operative (driving licence essential)

**Location**: Heathrow Airport

**Reporting to**:Operations Management Team

**Job Type**:Permanent - Full time contract (average 37.5 hr week - 1950 hrs annualised)

**Working hours**:Shift work covering 365 days per year, opportunities for overtime.

**Salary**:£27,300 per annum.

**Role profile**:
Supporting smooth running of the Airport by providing manual handling and logistics services across a range of projects.

Responsible for maintaining high standards regarding health and safety and security.

Liaises with Customers and Operational Management Teams across the Airport.

**Duties**:
Loading/unloading and sortation of passenger baggage.

Operating vehicles, assets and manual handling devices.

Reading baggage tags / scanning of baggage by approved device to ensure bags are in correct location.

Transporting baggage between designated areas within a scheduled timeframe.

Overseeing inputs and outputs in line with project objectives.

Carrying out the role in accordance with risk assessments, method statements and training received.

Conducting daily checks on vehicles and other assets, reporting issues and risks to Management.

Liaise closely with the Operations Management Team regarding any issues and requirements.

**Skills and Competencies**:
Ability to work in the UK and have a 5-year checkable history.

Good standard of written and spoken English.

Excellent communication skills.

Capable of repeated heavy lifting.

Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.

Adaptable, proactive and flexible approach.

A responsible attitude towards safety in a busy aviation environment.

**Essential - A full UK driving licence, (Maximum of 3 penalty points)**.

We are able to provide employee parking at a Perimeter Road car park for employees who hold and maintain an Airside Driving Permit.

**Salary**: £27,300.00 per year
