We are going through transformation and the aim of the people function is to enable our employees to deliver growth through a seamless employee experience. We are looking for a resilient, commercial and strategic People Business Partner who’s key focus will be to develop people plan(s) that add value and support business growth, as well as driving transformation as part of the People Leadership team.

The purpose of the People BP for Commercial is to play both a strategic and hands on delivery role. ‘Commercial’ at UW includes the commercial roles for Energy, Telecoms and Financial Services and our Sales function too (currently around 350 employees). It is a unique opportunity to join a FTSE250 going through significant change and help shape the future of our business.

**What you’ll do**

You will support the Commercial functions, be part of their leadership team(s) and develop the functional people plans through ensuring the right level of support and resources are in place.

**Your main accountabilities**:

- As a member of the People Leadership Team, contribute broadly to the business discussion, debate and direction, challenging where appropriate and provide insight/data to help move the people agenda forward.
- Lead on key change projects across the organisation.
- Work in collaboration with the leaders, providing coaching, support and challenge to deliver actions that will drive company performance and change. Including development of their own leadership team and style.
- Develop and lead people plan(s) across the Commercial functions that support and add value to the business goals. Ensure your support is commercial, pragmatic and continuously changes & aligns to the business priorities.
- Work with the wider People team to collaborate on the delivery of the people plan(s), ensuring they are aligned with the business requirements.
- Ensure the organisational design is fit for purpose, compliment other areas and evolve, spot opportunities to drive further change.

**About you**:

- You have extensive experience as a People BP working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- You are a strategic HR thinker, have business acumen and you are able to demonstrate a people agenda that’ll drive positive change.
- You will have worked as part of a leadership team whilst remaining deeply involved in the operation detail of the business.
- You have led or supported change across multiple functions.
- Broad understanding of the full employee life cycle.
- Strong ER knowledge in a fast moving business with differing levels of competence across managers and leaders.
- A track record of developing and implementing a people plan at pace with the ability to manage change and minimise complexity.
- You are great at building relationships and are able to bring people on a journey with you.
- Experience of working with speed, pragmatism and professionalism, ideally in a commercial environment.
- You can think creatively and outside the box, approaching challenges with energy and enthusiasm.
- You are an effective communicator who is able to understand and adapt your style based on who they are communicating with.
- You are resilient, can deal with ambiguity and pressure
