We have a dedicated team of staff who have experience in providing tailored logistic, freight, distribution, and warehousing services to companies of all sizes and across all industry sectors, throughout the UK, Europe and Worldwide.

We currently have a vacancy in our Air & Sea Freight Department for a Senior Ocean Import Clerk at our Witham site in Essex.

**Role Purpose**

Providing a valuable service in our Ocean Freight department, to organise the safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods for Deep Sea Imports.

**Position:**:**Duties**:

- Handling FCL and LCL exports worldwide
- Providing a high level of customer service at all times and building good business relationships with clients
- Liaising with customers, overseas agents and shipping lines
- Booking in jobs on the in-house system (Azyra)
- Arranging customs clearances / entries
- Dealing with any clearance queries/problems and resolving to minimise delays
- Arranging deliveries
- Keeping customers advised and updated at all stages of the export process
- Invoicing and administration
- Handling import quotations
- Any duties/tasks as requested by your Line Manager or a Director

**Working Hours**
Monday to Friday

09:00 till 17:30

1 hour lunch break

**Requirements:**:**Skills / Experience**:

- One year’s experience in working within an Operations or Transport office.
- Ocean Export experience
- A good knowledge of Ocean Exports procedures and documentation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work to deadlines with accuracy
- Ability to work well within a small team and use own initiative
- Computer literate
- Flexible and adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
- Team player
- Clear and confident communicator
- Accurate
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to work under pressure
- Punctual
- Flexible to hours of work
