Due to expansion, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable/ Accountant Assistant for a luxury retail brand based in Central London. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main duties are to assist in the running of the accounts functioncovering the full AP function and wider remit of the accounts department

**You will need to have a proven track record in a full accounts payable function in a commercial company ideally in Retail/ Wholesale to be considered for this position**

**They really need someone with aproactive and hardworking attitude able to connect internally & externally**

**If you don’t have a proven track record in a commercial business (not an Accountancy Practice) please do not apply**
- Working in a team of 2, to oversee and manage the Account Payable function
- Process purchase ledger invoices, ensuring company procedures are followed to make sure the correct coding and distribution are processed correct department for authorisation
- Checking invoices for accuracy against the purchase order and highlighting any discrepancies to the approver for follow up
- Taking full ownership of all 3rd party supplier payments and customer reconciliation, resolving any discrepancies, and ensuring any supplier payments are valid and accurate
- Reviewing expenses and invoices and making sure receipts are accurately matched to each claim
- Set-up up supplier/customer accounts within the accounts system;
- Processing supplier and expense payment runs and overseeing purchase orders and matching them to invoices
- Posting bank payments to the general ledger as appropriate
- Bank reconciliations multicurrency.
- Monthly credit card posting
- Monthly Paypal postings
- Manage the staff expenses

**Skills and qualifications**
- A minimum of two years prior experience working in an account payable role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A thorough approach to tackling problems and the ability to work methodically
- Time management and the ability to prioritize their workload and meet deadlines

**Training tasks**
- Understand the frequently used software and accounts (Sage, TRIMS, Shopify, Banks, Paypal, Credit Cards
