You will be a great communicator with strong management skills, confident in proposing your thoughts and ideas, as well as possessing the ability to listen and develop relationships with staff, developing employees to be assets within the company. As the ProductionManager you will have a support network of Team Leaders with responsibility for circa 200 staff.
Working alongside great people in a strong and supportive team you will be providing a comprehensive production service using best practice principles, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality, on time and exceeding customer expectations.

Production Manager Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the production department, ensuring processes are adhered to and products are manufactured to the highest quality and on schedule
Working closely with production planning to provide input into production schedule
Note any production deviations and highlight opportunities for improvement
Oversee, organise and allocate work within production to fulfil operational requirements
Demonstrate commitment to a zero-defect culture
Lead and encourage continuous improvement activities and team problem solving initiatives
Ensure labour costs are maintained below budget
Monitor staffing levels and work with the HR to ensure staff levels are in line to meet production requirements/schedule
Ensure housekeeping and visual standards are maintained in line with health and safety and continuous improvements objectives
Ensure production equipment is maintained to an acceptable standard at all times by implementing an appropriate defect reporting procedure and ensure corrective actions are closed down
Participate in selection of production related equipment
Work with other departments (design/sales etc.) in relation to the introduction of new products (or changes to existing products) to ensure the smooth introduction into production
Provide leadership and direction to the team
Encourage and support ideas from your team to develop a culture of continuous improvement
Manage the team effectively and in line with company policies, including HR related issues (return to work, counselling, disciplinaries etc.)
Develop staff potential by ensuring employees receive clear objectives and regular feedback
Provide/support employees with individual performance and professional development
Develop and maintain training matrix for your team, ensuring training needs are identified and implemented
Provide your team with relevant company and departmental information
Ensure new staff receive an appropriate induction and sufficient training is provided
Comply with Quality, Environment, Health & Safety systems, with particular attention to the regulatory elements
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical requirements
Production Manager Experience/Skills:
5+ years’ experience in a Production Management position, managing large teams of 50+ employees
Experience within a blue-chip manufacturing environment
Quality orientated
Excellent managerial skills and experience, with the ability to listen and develop relationships with all members of staff
An approachable and professional manner
Knowledge of a wide variety of production and manufacturing processes
Experience of Root Cause Analysis and implementing solutions
Process & Continuous Improvement experience (5S, 5Why, Six Sigma etc. experience would be beneficia)
Managerial qualification (ILM or similar) would be beneficial
Excellent understanding of Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety - ISOH / NEBOSH would be beneficial
Ability to manage change in a controlled, measured approach as well as the ability to manage growth in a sensible manner
Good level of basic education
Computer literate
Experience managing multiple sites would be beneficial
