**The Opportunity**:
Anopportunity has arisen to join The University of Edinburgh catering department as a Storeroom and Stock Assistant. The role will be based at our newest catering unit; Canopy at Edinburgh Futures Institute, Edinburgh’s old royal infirmary building. This much-loved historic building has been carefully renovated, extended and upgraded to form a major interdisciplinary institute, the largest of its kind in the UK. Newly opened with an exciting catering offer, we are now looking to strengthen our food team.
Canopy houses a modern restaurant and a busy food to go outlet featuring seasonal on trend exciting food. As a Storeroom and Stock Assistant, you will assist the Manger and Head Chef with the daily management of the stock ensuring that deliveries are received in line with our food safety standards. You will be responsible for the placing of orders with all of our suppliers as well as the checking and processing of invoices. You will assist the Manager and Head Chef with the monthly Stock Takes and review and check any variances ensuring that anomalies are investigated and if necessary escalated to Management.
