**Job overview**:
Applications are invited for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Physiotherapy team at Fairfield General Hospital as a Receptionist/Clerical Officer. You will be part of a team of administrative staff with responsibility to provide general administrative support in a very busy out-patient department. As such, you must be hard working and flexible.
You must have substantial administrative and clerical experience including a good knowledge of software programs/IT systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook. You will need to use your initiative and have the qualities to work in an unpredictable environment. Experience of NHS systems and processes is desirable.
You will at times be acting as the first point of contact for our service therefore you will require excellent communication and customer care skills. You should also be committed to team working; adaptable to the needs of the service; and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
**Main duties of the job**:
Meet and greet patients and visitors to the department
Input data related to referrals, appointment booking and discharge processes
Book patient transport and interpreters
The department is working towards a 7 day model of service delivery and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary.
