**Job overview**:
You will at times be acting as first point of contact to our services therefore you should have excellent communication and customer care skills. You should also be committed to team working; adaptable to the needs of the service; and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
You must have substantial administrative experience including a good knowledge of software programs/IT systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook; be able to work on your initiative and within a busy team environment. Experience of NHS systems and processes is desirable.
**Main duties of the job**:
- To greet and receive patients and visitors, providing a welcoming environment
- To operate a patient booking system, offering patients a choice of appointments
- To process referrals, input patient details into computerised systems and prepare notes for clinics.
- To deal with patient queries by telephone and in person
- To file and archive case notes
- To monitor stocks of stationary and office supplies
You will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary. You may also be required to work on other Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust sites.
