Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

**Overview of the post**

We wish to appoint a post-doctoral Research Fellow with expertise in economics or health economics to join the Health Organisation, Policy and Economics (HOPE) research group, based at the University of Manchester.

The successful applicant will work closely with Dr Rachel Meacock and Prof Matt Sutton, as well as the wider project team. You will be based in the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care, in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.

The role allows a mix of office-based and homeworking from within the UK. The minimum expectation is that you attend the office in Manchester on a weekly basis for wider research group meetings/seminars (currently team meetings take place on Tuesdays, when everyone is expected to attend). You would also be expected to attend the office for project team meetings as and when required, as well as occasional travel to other areas of the UK for work-related reasons.

The overall purpose of the role is to design, undertake and complete the economic analyses of the project outlined above using new data covering the period after the Covid-19 pandemic. This will provide evidence on whether the role of adult community health services in avoiding hospital admissions has changed following the pandemic. This will need to be executed quickly and will involve identifying and reviewing relevant academic and policy literature; sourcing and collating data; undertaking econometric analyses; writing up manuscripts for academic publication; and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to share findings.

The University will actively foster a culture of inclusion and diversity and will seek to achieve true equality of opportunity for all members of its community.

**What you will get in return**:

- Fantastic market leading Pension scheme

- Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
