**Quality Assurance Assistant - Causeway Prime**

**Reporting to**:Quality and Systems Manager

**Location**: Coleraine

**Hours of work**:Friday 6:30am - 3pm

An ever growing Food Business who pride themselves on high levels of product quality and safety and technical compliance. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain wide and varied experience in a manufacturing environment. As a Quality Assistant, the main purpose of your role is to assist in maintaining the site technical and quality systems. Must be self-motivated, organised team worker with excellent communication and administrative skills. Must be a tenacious character and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within our company.

**Minimum Job Requirements**
- Working towards, or have a Degree in food related Science or HND
- Working knowledge of HACCP
- Excellent computer literacy in particular Excel and Word
- Knowledge of food safety principles
- Research skills
- Ability to speak to groups and conduct group training on Quality / Food Safety Issues
- Self-organisation and time management skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills, creative problem solving and commitment to company goals

**Job Duties**
- Work with the Quality & Systems Manager to develop and maintain the on-site Quality Management System to the current DAERA, SALSA, FSA and EHO standards.
- To champion site quality through processes such as HACCP
- Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company SOPs and effectively communicating to operatives when any deviations from SOPs.
- To develop and maintain robust Quality Checks from raw material to finished goods, making appropriate recommendations for improvement
- Carry out housekeeping, GMP and glass/hard plastic internal audits.
- Assist with the training of employees to new procedures and systems developed.
- Prepare for and participate in 3rd party safety audits
- Challenge process and continuous improvement programs
- Maintain raw material and packaging acceptance
- Maintain product formulations for approval
- Develop current product specification system
- Manage complaint investigations and responses to customer as appropriate
- Assist in maintaining the traceability system
- Carry out quality and systems related projects as requested.
- Carry out any other duties as requested.
- Deputise for the Quality & Systems Manager during holidays or absence.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 8 hours per week
