Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) Pharmacy Technical Services.

To assemble and prepare pharmaceutical products in accordance with relevant organisational procedures and government legislation

Carry out the specified duties to support Pharmacy Technical Services

Prepare, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, aseptic injectables using Isolator Technology

To accurately record and maintain all elements of paperwork related to the preparation of product and the maintenance of the facility

To support the supervision of assistants and rotational staff working within Technical Services

To assist in the maintenance of the environment, ensuring that the facility meets the required standards of cleanliness and sterility.

Aseptic preparation of injectable medicines using isolator technology for a range of both in-patient and out-patient clinics

Assemble associated paperwork and components to enable preparation of injectable medicines to support the audit chain

To undertake environmental monitoring of the environment and to work with the team to ensure that the facility is fit for purpose

Assist with the assemble of non-sterile emergency medication kits in line with departmental procedures

Use dedicated computer software to prepare paperwork for both Parenteral Nutrition and Chemotherapy

Use the departmental stock maintenance software to ensure that the service is costed to the correct directorate and medicines are ordered in a timely fashion to ensure treatment continuation
