Asset Records Officer

About the role
Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for an asset records officer to help support the continued refinement and improvement of property related systems and records across the organisation.
The focus of the portfolios is to deliver a diverse range of first-class services for the people of Cambridgeshire, aligning the council’s property assets with the strategic aims and objectives of the council, as well as generating income. This can only be done with accurate maps, plans and records.
For any questions or an informal chat about the role please contact Mark Dovey.
What will you be doing?
You will be heavily involved populating and maintaining the asset management database, ensuring it works efficiently and will in time become the expert in using it to support property asset management. This information is used for reporting, landlord and tenant issues, capturing critical event dates, creating leases, selling sites, portfolio valuations, construction and maintenance and establishing future property strategy.
Many of the records are maps and plans. Ideally you will also be able to use different software packages to produce MapInfo plans, CAD drawings, paper records and the property asset management database.
About you
You should have good IT skills with some GIS, CAD and database entry / management experience in a property setting. Relevant experience working with property management systems, being able to interpret plans, and the ability to prepare accurate floor and Land Registry compliant property plans would be good. Training will be given.
You will need to be able to build strong and productive working relationship to achieve the best outcomes.
For a full list of the requirements of the role, please check out the Job Description & Person Specification.
