Senior Procurement Officer

As part of the central Procurement Service and reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a number of procurement activities across Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management, the Trust and Northumbria Primary Care.
The successful applicant(s) will demonstrate an ability to draw on a strong set of procurement skills, commercial business acumen and specific experience in the delivery of procurement processes, developed over a number of years working in the public sector.
The successful applicant(s) will be supported to undertake the professional development requirements outlined within the job description.
As a key member of our centralised Procurement Service, this role will focus on the delivery of a wide portfolio of procurement requirements with a focus on estate & facilities management and/or construction, focusing predominantly on projects of a capital nature.

NHFM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 2012, NHFM provide specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services. Carrying out facilities management for a state-of-the-art specialist emergency care hospital - The Northumbria, three general hospitals - North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham hospitals - and a number of smaller community hospitals and clinic sites, we cover one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.
The primary purpose of this role will be to work simultaneously across multiple stakeholder business units providing specific procurement support and the delivery of quotation processes in line with the Standing Financial Instructions & policies, and to undertake procurement activity to deliver compliance and value for money to the Trust and its subsidiaries.
