Admin Team Leader

Your new role
This role will require you to lead, strengthen and coordinate a team of project support staff to provide essential project administration activities and excellent customer service. You will also manage their ongoing development, performance and wellbeingto create an experienced, agile and resilient team that can best support delivery of the region’s multi Million-pound road schemes.
What you’ll be leading on
- Provide day to day line management to your direct team; developing skills, capability and capacity, to optimise performance and deliver a high-quality project support service, ensuring all line management responsibilities are fulfilled including forwardplanning, performance management, attendance management, succession planning and supporting staff in their ongoing development
- Coach, guide and provide technical advice to junior team members, to support them in their work and in their professional development.
- Embed a strong customer focused culture through efficient practice and effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective flow of reporting and information.
- Operate administrative processes across our regional projects as required, ensuring that these are delivered accurately, on time and in line with defined procedures and standards.
- Manage the compilation and authorisation of a high volume of documents whilst ensuring their governance compliance through accurate and up to date administrative records within projects.
- Supporting the Programme Support Manager and Senior Leadership Team by promoting continuous learning, encouraging a culture of self-improvement, building capability within the project support team to meet the needs of the projects and workstreams to time,quality and within budget.
- Manage pieces of work to completion, either standalone or as part of larger projects, to support achievement of business objectives.
- Lead on organising events/meetings, including chairing, producing content and presentations, building on lessons learnt, collating information and actions and ensuring all logistics are in place well ahead of schedule.
- Contribute to improvements which minimise risk to the health, safety and welfare of colleagues and stakeholders and carry out any tasks identified to the post.
To be successful
- Experience of managing and/or developing, with a good understanding of line manager processes and procedures.
- Clear evidence of prioritising conflicting demands in order to meet challenging deadlines and maintaining continuous efficient workflows at all times.
- Demonstrable evidence of engaging with customers and/or stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ability to lead on internal projects or areas of work to improve the business for our people, seeking and listening to views, finding solutions to problems, and communicating changes
- Proficiency in a range of office software products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to enable production/maintenance of a range of complex documents, spreadsheets, and management reports.
