**General Summary**:
Currently we are recruiting for the role of Noise, Nuisance & Anti-Social Behaviour Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of the Parkguard success story during a period of amazing company growth. We work alongside Local Authorities and the Police to support the public and other partner agencies in the overall management of anti-social behaviour, prevention of crime and other public nuisance issues. This role is street-based (public realm) uniformed patrol, deployed in a Local Authority support capacity to deliver and supply statutory noise nuisance services on behalf of local authority clients.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Respond to, investigate and resolve, within published service standards, wherever possible, service requests relating primarily to noise and nuisance, but also complaints relating to other areas within the Environmental Services remit
- Work outside of normal office hours as part of the noise and nuisance response service 4/5 days a week shift system
- To assist in the preparation of the service and enforcement of legal notices under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Control of Pollution Act 1974 and any other legislation that is appropriate to the secure them main purpose of the post
- Respond to out of hours noise and nuisance requests
- Keep abreast of technical and legal developments in all areas of Environmental Health
- To carry out visits and gather evidence for colleagues in other teams such as licensing enforcement
- Conduct noise & nuisance assessments from within complainant’s properties to determine whether a nuisance does or does not exist
- Become familiar with operational policies, procedures and techniques relevant to the job
- Completion of statements imperative for court cases relating to noise & nuisance
- To prepare detailed reports relating to case work and wider noise and nuisance issues
- Work in partnership with Local Service providers: Police, Intelligence Units, Crime Reduction and Community Safety Partnerships

**Essential Criteria**:

- SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection Licence
- Valid UK Driving Licence - Manual or Auto
- Able to commit to the advertised shifts / days
- Genuine commitment to customer care and quality in the delivery of a good quality service
- An ability to organise and prioritise workload when under pressure with good problem-solving skills and ability to work as a member of a team
- Confident in dealing with and deescalating confrontational situations calmly, assertively and impartially.
- Excellent listening and negotiation skills. Capable of adapting style and approach to different situations and groups of people
- Must be physically fit and able to patrol on foot
- Excellent personal presentation.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Understanding of environmental legislation, enforcement and its powers (i.e., Environmental Protection Act 1990, Control of Pollution Act 1974)
- Capable of keeping detailed, concise and accurate records of all visits and actions and preparing witness statements
- Recent experience of investigating complaints, dealing with enquiries and undertaking enforcement action
- Experience within investigating noise and nuisance complaints and taking appropriate action

**Salary**: Rate of pay during training £12ph, thereafter paid at £13/ph (Circa £30,420-£34,450p/a)

**Working Days**: 5 day week. (Thursday - Sunday essential + One other day during the week)

**Total hours per week**: Contracted hours are minimum of 45hrs per week with overtime available (Additional working days)

**Shifts**: 20:00PM - 04:00AM on Noise Response Service (4 days) + One other late shift (i.e 17:00-02:00 / 16:00 - 01:00)

**Salary**: £30,420.00-£34,450.00 per year
