This position is on shift rota that operates 7 days per week, the hours of service are From 7.00am Friday through to 2.30am on Tuesday.

Then 7.00 am through to 2.30am the following morning, starting on Tuesday through to Friday.

This involves shifts of either 9 hrs Monday to Thursday or 12hrs on Friday to Sunday

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

To provide a regulatory service that is responsible for protecting the community, by using the relevant legislation to control and enforce, in the areas of Noise & Nuisance within Regulatory Services (Environmental Health). Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of the borough’s environment by identifying, investigating and effectively dealing with breaches of legislation. Through written or verbal advice or warnings, notices, seizures and other legal action in accordance with the Enforcement Concordat, and Enforcement Protocol.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**

Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of the borough’s environment by identifying, investigating and effectively dealing with breaches of legislation. Through written or verbal advice or warnings, notices, seizures and other legal action in accordance with the Enforcement Concordat, and Enforcement Protocol.

**Knowledge, including educational qualifications**:
1. A relevant degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent academic or professional standard. Or a minimum of seven years active enforcement action within a statutory noise & nuisance team, and be able to show evidence of continuing professional development.

**Experience**:
2. Knowledge of regulatory framework governing services provided by the statutory functions and obligations placed on a local authority in relation to services provided by environmental health. With particular expertise with regards to Statutory Noise Nuisance.

4. Knowledge of providing advice, guidance and enforcing within the field of noise nuisance legislation in accordance with enforcement concordats and protocols.

Expected hours: 35 per week
