Job title: Aspirations Key Worker (Hub)

Responsible to: Aspirations Room Leader

Brief overview: To work closely with the Aspirations Room Leader supporting the behaviour management and learning of children within the setting. To build positive relationships with children who attend The Aspire Hub and their linked school. To establish good working relationships with their families and other professionals.

Support for Pupils
- Under the guidance of the Aspirations Room Leader, implement structured learning activities and to assist individual/group of children to complete tasks.
- To undertake activities to assist in monitoring the personal, social and emotional needs of pupils.
- To develop positive relationships with pupils to assist progress and attainment.
- To assist in the devising of the pupils individual targets and their monitoring and review.
- Support the pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme.
- To assist in the development of varying skills that support pupils learning.
- To assist in the specific medical/care needs of the pupils when specific training has been undertaken.
- To support individual pupils in classroom settings or in small groups by delivering group work interventions.
- To support children in their transitions back to mainstream school.
- Attending mainstream setting with children
- Support children in the school setting
- Supporting school staff with transitioning children back to school
- Modelling behaviour management strategies to school staff
- Liaising with HT, Teacher and TA’s to ensure smooth transition.

Support for the Aspirations Room Leader
- To assist in the monitoring/recording of the pupils progress and developmental needs.
- To assist in the production of learning resources.
- To undertake routine classroom administrative tasks including the maintenance of records.
- To assist in pupil supervision and assist in the management of pupil behaviour.
- To provide information to the Aspirations Leader to assist in the planning of work programmes.
- To liaise with the schools nominated person in respect of pupil absence.
- To assist with the arrangements for out of school learning activities including the administration of work experience.
- To provide clerical and administrative support including the collection and recording of money.
- Undertake routine marking of the pupils work.
- To assist the delivery of educational and developmental work programmes.
- To support the use of ICT in learning activities.

Support for The Aspire Hub
- To support The Hub in the effective management of children displaying SEND which may include Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties; Social & Communication difficulties; MLD.
- To assist in providing an atmosphere in which effective learning can take place.
- To support the promotion of positive relationships with parents, carers and outside agencies.
- To work within The Hubs policies and procedures.
- To attend staff training as appropriate.
- To take care for their own and other peoples health and safety.
- To be aware of the confidential nature of issues related to home/pupil/teacher/school work.
- Working flexibly at different times of the day/week and in different settings to engage the pupils in positive activities.
- In the instances, that Aspire transports children to and from The Aspire Hub, you will be expected to escort children on the minibus.
- Working in line with our Transport Policy and Behaviour Policy
- Working flexibly in line with the minibus escorting timetable
- Supporting your colleagues and sharing escorting duties
- To have an understanding and follow safeguarding guidelines of the organisation, supported school and linked Local Authority.
- To work with independence, initiative and be able to generate positive solutions for children with additional needs, where there may be conflict.
- To produce, maintain and monitor equipment and resources within The Hubs i.e. displays, role play, games and toys and the outdoor area - this includes the safe disposal and cleaning of the toys and equipment.
- To prepare shopping lists and resources for cooking with the children.
- To prepare and cook all snacks and meals for the children in The Hubs - alongside the children.
- To ensure that the inside and outside environment is safe, clean and kept to a high standard at all times.
- To undertake additional duties as required by the Aspirations Senior Leadership Team within the nature of the post.
