- Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, during school term time only (39 weeks per year).
- Location: Dagenham, London
- Age Range of Students: 8 to 18 year-old.

**Key Responsibilities**

Emotional Regulation Support:

- Assist students during times of dysregulation, using calming and TEACH techniques and individualized approaches to help them manage their emotions.
- Identify triggers and implement proactive strategies to support emotional stability.

Educational Support:

- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support that complements the students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Facilitate learning and participation in classroom activities by adapting tasks to meet students’ needs.

Encouraging Self-Care and Independence:

- Support students in developing daily living skills such as dressing, eating, personal hygiene, and toileting.
- Promote independence by encouraging students to take ownership of their routines and tasks.

Fostering Social and Emotional Development:

- Encourage positive interactions and social engagement with peers in a structured, supportive manner.
- Celebrate achievements, no matter how small, to build self-confidence and motivation.

Ensuring a Safe and Structured Environment:

- Maintain a safe, organized, and predictable environment to reduce anxiety and promote comfort.
- Provide immediate and effective responses during challenging situations to ensure the safety of students and others.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

- Work closely with teachers to ensure consistent care and support.
- Participate in ongoing training, including Team-Teach training, to stay updated on best practices.

**Requirements**:

- Experience: Experience working with young people with autism or complex needs is preferable.
- Skills: Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of young people with autism.
