**Job Purpose**: To work as a team to provide effective and efficient administrative support of MBChB assessment activities as defined below **Main Duties and Responsibilities** 1. Responsible for the detailed arrangements for all aspects of the operational delivery of the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) 2. To work with OSCE Leads to ensure recruitment of examiners and examiner training 3. To work closely with the Simulated Patient Co-ordinator to ensure SPs are arranged as required for OSCEs 4. To facilitate academic colleagues with the annual cycle of OSCE station development 5. Responsible for managing and maintaining the OSCE station bank and all relevant materials 6. Responsible for the data capture of all OSCE and MCQ examination papers using the MBChB, MSCAA and University systems, ensuring a high standard of quality control measures 7. Responsible for monitoring all good cause submissions on My Campus, in line with School requirements and University Policy 8. Responsible for the collation and release of student and examiner feedback for all OSCE and written examinations 9. To work with administrative and academic colleagues to ensure the successful implementation of Practique examination software 10. Liaise with Registry to confirm schedule of annual MBChB assessments and invigilator arrangements for on campus exams. 11. To work with the Undergraduate Medical School Manager to ensure that c100 prizes and medals are awarded towards the end of each academic session 12. To work with SoMDN statistical support to ensure academic colleagues have timeous access to assessment results to enable them to prepare Board of Examiner presentations 13. To share responsibilities as clerk for all assessment meetings including OSCE planning groups, OSCE Station Development meetings, MBChB Assessment Committee meetings, and all External Board of Examiner meetings. 14. Work with the School Manager to ensure calculation of distinctions for all MBChB1-5 students. 15. Work with the Assessment Lead to ensure information on the Year 1-5 Moodle Assessment Pages and MBChB Common Room Assessment Page is accurate and up to date. 16. Resolve all issues using initiative and judgement, seeking advice only in complex circumstances. 17. Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Undergraduate Medical School Manager **Qualifications** **Essential**: A1. VQ 3, Higher grades, City & Guilds or equivalent A2. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Desirable: B1. An appreciation of wider University and HE issues and their impact on this role B2. Knowledge of the MBChB Curriculum. B3. Awareness of data protection legislations. **Knowledge and Skills** **Essential**: C1. Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload C2. Strong oral and written communication skills C3. Ability to use own initiative and work under mínimal supervision C4. Ability to work accurately under pressure, maintaining attention to detail C5. Strong numerical literacy and a proven ability to handle large data sets C6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team C7. Excellent IT skills C8. Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality C9. Strong customer service skills **Desirable**: D1. Ability to manipulate and interpret datasets **Experience** **Essential**: E1. Typically 3 years relevant experience in an education or assessment environment with qualifications listed in **A**1,** or evidence of progression and development gained through 4-5 years relevant work experience without qualifications E2. Experience of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel and Outlook E3. Experience of using bespoke software packages such as MyCampus / Practique / Moodle E3. Experience of supporting and clerking committees and meetings **Desirable**: F1. Previous experience of working within a University teaching or assessment support team F2. An awareness of MBChB curriculum and/or OSCE clinical examinations F3. Experience of using T4 web editing platform **Dimensions** Provision of designated administrative support to the Undergraduate Medical School Assessment and Curriculum teams. Work closely with the MBChB Assessment team to assist with the preparation for and running of the Undergraduate Medical School’s annual cycle of assessment. The MBChB programme is delivered by the Undergraduate Medical School, which is part of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, within the College of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow. The Undergraduate Medical School has a student population of >1500 across the MBChB, Intercalated, and pre-medical access programmes. Teaching and Assessment is delivered by a wide range of University and Honorary staff. There is an administrative staff of c20.
