**How you'll make a difference**:
As a Career Progression Coach, you will be responsible for helping people who are currently in work identify and reach their career goals. Each successful participant will write their own action plan, complete it, and progress their career, all thanks to your support.

You will be working as part of the Skills Team, who will ensure you have everything you need to succeed in your new role.

**Your primary base will be in Yate but you will be out and about across South Gloucestershire for most of the week**.

**What will you be doing?**
- Working with young people and adults who are currently in work, you will provide support and guidance to progress into more sustainable and higher paid careers. you will work with colleagues across the West of England Combined Authority region as part of Future Bright, an Employment Support Innovation Pilot (ESIP), funded by DWP.
- Daily, you will be the participants’ main point of contact, gaining their trust and developing a deep understanding of their needs.
- It will be your responsibility to help participants visualise their ideal career pathways, identifying barriers and opportunities and guide them through an agreed action plan.
- You will analyse the suitability of existing available support and identify any gaps in provision.
- You will mentor and coach individuals to build confidence, increase motivation and encourage positive behaviour change to fulfil participants’ true potential.

**What we need from you**:
You will have the necessary skills and drive to want to help people progress in work and in life, making a real difference to people in our community.
- You must hold an NVQ4 in Information Advice and Guidance qualification or equivalent qualification or have equivalent relevant experience in dealing with advice and guidance.
- It is essential that you will have operational and caseload experience within advice and guidance and/or experience of working with a diverse range of people with the ability to develop trusting relationships.
- You will have the ability to manage your own workload and to support participants to develop portfolios of achievement.
- You must have excellent communications skills, including the ability to motivate, be assertive and negotiate effectively to offer clear, consistent responses with people on low income who may have complex barriers to progression in work.
- Experience of working towards targets, monitoring progression outcomes, and taking remedial action is required in this role.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
