- 37.5 hours per week
- Includes after school and school holidays
- Occasional evenings/some weekends
- Additional Holiday Scheme work is also available during school holidays

**Rate of Pay**:

- Up to £31,000pa, depending on experience

**Work Location**:

- Portslade Village Centre, 3 Courthope Close, Portslade, BN41 2LZ
- Extratime services (currently in Portslade, Woodingdean and Shoreham)
- Flexibility to offer some homeworking

**Direct Reports**:
After School Club and holiday scheme Supervisor(s); Sessional Supervisors, Deputies and Play Workers

The diverse support needs of the children and young people mean most require specialist care and support to meet their high SEND needs (e.g. communication, personal care, behaviour support, emergency medication administration). You will be responsible for ensuring this support is safely and sensitively provided.

The keys areas of responsibility are;
**1. **Venue Lead at one of Extratime’s After School Clubs and Holiday Schemes (based at either Hill Park or Woodys)**

Located at one of our two Brighton & Hove after school clubs, you will lead the delivery of the club, supporting a team of Play Workers to support children to have fun, relax and spend time with friends after school.

**2. **Venue Lead at one of Extratime’s Holiday Play Schemes (based at either Portslade Play or Woodys Play)**

Located at one of our two Brighton & Hove holiday play schemes, you will lead and manage a team of Play Workers to support children to have fun, try new things and socialise during the Easter and summer school holidays. To achieve this, you will plan and deliver a range high quality, fun and creative, play and leisure opportunities appropriate for children and young people with a wide range of abilities and interests.

**3. **Work within the Senior SEND Team to plan and prepare for Portslade Play, Woodys Play and West Sussex holiday schemes.**

Located either in the office or at home in accordance with Extratime’s hybrid working policy, you will lead on children’s needs and risk assessment, and register planning for holiday play schemes. You will plan, resource and co-ordinate scheme activities and resources, participate in staff selection, support and training, and meet health, safety and quality assurance standards for the settings.

**4. **Line Manage Supervisors / Venue Leads in other Extratime play settings to deliver high quality services.**

Provide regular coaching and supervision to direct reports, supporting their communication with Complex Needs Practice Lead and other colleagues to ensure the needs of children are met within the setting.

5. **Plan and prepare a programme of regular Family Fun Events**

Create, plan and promote a programme of events where children and young people with SEND and their families enjoy spending time together and participate in a range of workshops provided by Extratime’s external activity partners (Sports, animals, magic, music, arts and crafts etc.).

6. **Work with external partners and represent Extratime agency meetings**.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including parent carers, school staff, social care and community and voluntary Sector (CVS) partners, and represent Extratime at multi-agency meetings and statutory reviews.

**M**a**in Duties**

**Venue Management (After school clubs and Holiday Play Schemes)**

1. Accountable for the overall management and running of after school clubs and holiday schemes, and maintaining a warm and caring environment, ensuring safe, creative, and challenging activities are delivered which will meet the needs of all children and young people

2. Lead the planning of the programme of activities and opportunities, ensuring that all activities are designed to allow all children and young people to have fun and participate at their own level, gently challenging them to reach their potential

3. Responsible for resolving any problems and challenges within the settings in line with Extratime policies and procedures, including the timely management of emergency situations. This includes escalating issues to the Services Manager/CEO as appropriate

4. Ensure any safeguarding concerns are reported and recorded as outlined in Extratime’s Safeguarding Policy, including informing Designated Safeguarding Lead and/or Officer immediately

5. Ensure any accidents, incidents or near misses are reported and recorded as outlined in Extratime’s Accident, Incident & Near Miss Procedure, including immediately informing Services Manager/CEO of any serious accidents/incidents or those involving physical intervention

6. Ensure risk assessments are completed, monitored, and reviewed for all activities, trips, venues and children/young people

7. Manage venue registers and waiting lists, including referrals and assessments; this will include undertaking new children’s observat
