Independent Clinical Advisor to National Oversight

The National Oversight Group (NOG) is an assurance body that brings together representation from NHS England, the three providers of high secure hospital services and Department of Health and Social Care, Ministry of Justice, CQC, NHS Improvement and the Welsh Assembly Government who have expertise and/or accountability for provision, regulation, commissioning, authorisation and/or high secure care pathways.
TheNational Oversight Group (NOG)is responsible forproviding assistance toNHS England in fulfilling ‘line of sight’ responsibilities and to NHS England on the quality, safety, security and strategic direction for high secure services, taking account of the requirements of the wider National Health Service (NHS) and criminal justice system.
We are seeking to appoint an Independent Clinical Advisor who will work closely with the Independent Chair and Independent Security Advisor to provide independent clinical advice on matters relating toclinical practiseforthe HighSecure Hospitalsand how they relate to the wider secure pathway.
Role involves a commitment to up to 15 days per year, with travel to different venues as COIVD restrictions allow.
Please note that the reason for the 3 year fixed term of your contract is that this is a requirement within the terms of reference of the National Oversight Group.
