Community and Events Fundraiser
Our client is looking for an experienced professional Fundraiser who is proactive and highly organised, with the drive and enthusiasm for working with others to help maximise income generation and ensure all fundraising activities are delivered in a timely manner.
They are looking for workers who have the vision and passion to promote the company and support adults living with acquired brain injury at every opportunity. Previous experience of working in a similar role is advantageous.
Role type: Part time, permanent (3 days per week)
Location: Colchester, Essex
**Salary**: 25K (Pro rata)
Community and Events Fundraiser Duties:
- You will be responsible for organising, managing, and delivering a portfolio of in-house events.
- You will represent the company at charity events, cheque presentations and engaging with the local community providing support for their own fundraising events.
- You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of Fundraising volunteers across Essex.
- Manage and develop mutually beneficial relationships with all third-party supporters.
- Identify, implement, and maintain a rolling programme of appropriate fundraising activities in order to meet/exceed budget.
- Keeping accurate records of all fundraising activities and ensuring monitoring is in place.
- Ensure fundraising activities meet and comply with both organisation and legislative requirements and recommended practice within the fundraising industry.
- Monitor and provide timely reports on performance against agreed budgets to achieve the income forecast.
- Oversee all fundraising events to ensure risk assessments are undertaken, health and safety records are maintained, and adequate insurance cover is in place.
- Plan and deliver company events, monitoring income and expenditure to assess success, profitability, and viability.
- Work in collaboration using audience insight and product knowledge with the Marketing and Communications Officer to use all appropriate methods and routes to market, to gain optimal event attendance, engagement, and fundraising results
- Work with the Fundraising Manager to implement the Community Fundraising strategy.
- Prepare in collaboration, the annual Events, Donations and Community Fundraising, income, and expenditure budget.
- Contribute to the production of event fundraising marketing literature and communications to ensure they are appropriate, in line with policy and branding etc.
- Maximise income from all events, Gift Aid, Just Giving and other online giving platforms.
- Work to ensure the quality of fundraising data held on the CRM database is accurate, up to date and compliant with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Represent the company publicly including giving talks, presentations and attending network events.
- Build and develop relationships with key individuals, companies and organisations that can assist in the achievement of fundraising and engagement objectives.
- Grow, manage, and develop a supporter network across Essex.
- Jointly manage and monitor the generic fundraising mailbox and telephone line, ensuring they are appropriately responded to, actioned, shared and recorded.
- Provide cover for the Fundraising administrator, as required.
- To undertake any other duties that may be required and are appropriate to the post, as requested by the Fundraising Manager.
Community and Events Fundraiser Requirements:
- You will also need to hold a valid driving licence and be prepared to use your own vehicle for business use.
- You will have a proven record of organising successful Fundraising events, ideally within a charity setting.
- You will have a successful record of day to day operational and organisational abilities and skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and others from a range of professionals and community fundraisers.
- You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work to deadlines whilst prioritising workload.
- Experience of risk assessments and health and safety is desirable.
- You will have proficient IT skills.
- Be educated to GCSE or equivalent level Grade C, English and Math.
