**The Division**

The Student Services Division supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The Division has a student orientated culture and puts students' needs at the heart of everything it does. The Student Support department offers aninclusive and accessible service that enables students to reach their full potential.

**The Role** This post will oversee and lead on coordination of Support Service delivery for the College in line with key development plans and service standards. This will include delivery of support and safeguarding intervention to ensure learners are retained andachieve. The post-holder will proactively promote participation in activities and all Support Centre services in liaison with the Adviser team/Coordinator counterpart and partner agencies. The Coordinator will build positive relationships with students, staffand external organisations to effectively safeguard, signpost and provide students with support interventions as appropriate.

**Generic Main Purposes and Responsibilities**

**Responsibleto**:Head of Student Support: 36 hours per week
- Lead on the coordination of a high quality Student Support Service in conjunction with the other Service key Team Leads
- Provide effective leadership and line manage, supervise and support Wellbeing / or Student Engagement Adviser staff in the delivery of support interventions
- Supervise Wellbeing / or Pastoral Advisers on the effective assessment, support, safety and intervention planning of caseloads in line with service standards and safeguarding policy
- Work with Advisers to effectively triage, manage and monitor referrals to ensure referral pathways both internally and externally are effective and in line with service thresholds and standards
- Organise, establish and implement quality systems to monitor, track and prioritise vulnerable learners identified
- Review, produce and advise staff on effective risk assessments for students facing complex safeguarding challenges and barriers
- Act as a Lead professional / key point of contact for child protection, child in need or other multiagency support plan interventions
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with a range of external organisations and networks to enhance student support delivery plans and any key targeted initiatives to develop vulnerable students
- Produce and periodically review written health and safety risk assessments
- Compile and produce regular service reports, staffing rotas and chair team meetings
- Coordinate facilities and equipment to support delivery and staff needs as required
- Deputise for the Head of Service as required within the service, providing a source of advice and support for staff/students around safeguarding across the College in relation to risk assessments and safety plans
- Act as Deputy Centre Safeguarding Lead for the Kingston site in support of the Centre Lead/Head of Service and the Group DSL/Assistant Principal

**General Duties of the Post**

The post holder will assist with or undertake the following:

- Keep up-to-date with Quality Improvement initiatives and to be aware of, and meet, service standards for Student Services
- Participate in the Professional Development Programme and undertake training and supervision as required, including all areas of office technology
- Propose any ideas that may help to promote and extend the College's reputation and efficient running of the College
- Work safely, consider the confidentiality and safety of others and work within the guidelines stated in the College Health and Safety and GDPR policies
- Be available to assist in enrolment procedures, which may require additional hours including evenings and weekends, for example during the Autumn Term
- Work flexibly, which may include evenings, open days, parents' evenings and possibly weekends
- Undertake any other duties as may be required. To actively support equality and diversity and inclusion policies of South Thames College Group
