**Job summary**:
Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clyde’s primary purpose is to provide engineering and logístical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

**Job description**:

- The position of the Workforce Support Officer (WSO) is to be the focal point on matters associated with the assignment of personnel into and from the SFS area of responsibility. To collaborate closely with the relevant external authorities in order to ensure maximum provision of personnel into the Babcock Placed Personnel positions with the SFS vision - for RN technical to have access to broad and gainful employment as a member of the BM workforce for the benefit of sustainable sea-shore ration and various circulation of skills from sea to shore. They will also help in promoting the naval ethos and strive to uphold Personal Function Standards, IAW wider Royal Navy Policy.

**Person specification**:
The role required effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to work across as wide range of partners at all levels.
- To provide workforce statistics to the Employment Manager, CSCM and other interested parties.
- To carry out duties of USO for SFS.
- Ensure all RN staff seconded to BM have adequate divisional support.
- Co-ordinate the recording and reporting of factors and statistics affecting the utilisation of the RN workforce.
- To ensure maintenance and upkeep of the RN personnel database.
- To maintain USO log and database.
- To ensure RN staff are in suitable, appropriate, and fulfilling roles.
- To monitor and ensure SFS and BM Secondees mandatory training is completed and in date.
- Any other general admin duties.
- Work with the Technical Staff Co-ordinator (TSC) to produce monthly stats.
- Assist TSC with booking RN travel.
- To act as Authorised Demander for SFS.
- To provide support to the Employment Manager and wider personnel office.
- Any other reasonable tasks as identified by the line manager

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, including excel and previous knowledge of MoD travel booking systems are desirable however not required
