We are looking to welcome a **Tax Assistant** to our Tax Team to assist with the preparation of all Indirect & Employment Tax related analysis, tax returns & reclaims and any other tax related documentation. The role is based at our Market Drayton Head Office with a hybrid working model.

**Tax Assistant key responsibilities will include**:

- Tax analysis of expenses accounts for inclusion in the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA).
- Assist with the preparation of foreign VAT returns & reclaims.
- Assist with the preparation of Alcoholic Ingredients Relief claims & reconciliations.
- Assist with VAT reviews of new products and internal/external competitions.
- Assist with Global Mobility tracking and collating tax return information.
- Support with the preparation of the Plastic Packaging Tax returns.
- Support with compliance of the Off-Payroll Working legislation (IR35)
- Assist with the Senior Accounting Officer process, supporting with the review & reporting procedures.
- Assist with data collection for HMRC queries & Group requests.
- General tax administration support for the team.
- Take notes of meetings, support with running reports / sending information requests.

**Tax Assistant key skills & experience**

Required:

- Excellent working knowledge of Word and Excel essential.
- Hands on attitude
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Resilient and able to deal with changing deadlines
- Strong team player
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Good diplomacy skills

Desirable:

- Experience in an finance or tax environment.
- Knowledge of VAT return process / basic VAT legislation & payroll / employment tax desirable.
