We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our well known Utilities Client to support the record to report financial processing for operational expense. This role will involve processing financial entries leading to complete and accuratefinancial information and production of financial reporting.

Role Responsibilities
- Processing financial transactions and data for operational expenditure, ensuring the data used is consistent and accurate, the appropriateness of all inputs and outputs, and the completeness, consistency and accuracy of all data. Ensure accounting entriesare appropriately classified in accordance with internal policy, accounting standards, nature of expenditure or form of control.
- Supporting the Transactional Opex Accountant in producing regular standardised financial performance and forecast reports.
- Responsible for reviewing and preparing accounts for an area of the business and investigate financial queries arising from the process and working with the offshore partner to ensure the accuracy of the financial data and that SOPs are updated regularly.
- Supporting the Opex Accountant in investigating and responding to queries from external auditors and internal finance/tax colleagues.
- Support process improvements to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Supporting the Opex accountant with key balance sheet reconciliations

Technical or Specialist skills
- Excel skills
- Basic finance knowledge
- Knowledge of S4 Hana an advantage

Experiences required
- Experience in a finance function in a medium to large organisation
- Desirable to have experience in a regulated business
