Role: Head of Sales / Permanent

Location: South-East London border

£65-75,000 basic plus commission, excellent benefits and bonus

An exciting brand-new hire has arisen to join a leading, well-established, independent Publishing and Events company based on the border of South-East London.

This is a brand-new hire as their **Head of Sales** so you will have an opportunity to take ownership of this role and make it your own.

**Responsibilities for the Head of Sales role**:

- Responsible for building and promoting profitable, sustainable revenues from existing customers and for developing relationships and revenues with new/existing customers
- Maintain and grow yields through a value-based selling strategy
- Develop complex and high-level relationships with key customers
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the markets and products, using this to build profits from all customers
- Identify and develop relationships with potential new clients and relevant industry associations/partnerships by undertaking appropriate research
- Maintain and further develop strong working relationships with existing clients and ensure their needs are always met, with a view to improving customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Proactive in ensuring technical knowledge remains up to date throughout the team
- Shows understanding of commercial and business issues facing an organisation
- Identifying and attending relevant industry events/exhibitions and meetings
- Effectively managing time and workload, individually and that of your team members, meeting all deadlines
- Devise and implement practical and relevant solutions to issues to ensure they meet business needs
- Keep abreast of market knowledge and competitor activity to identify key trends and issues which will shape offerings and industry interactions

**Skills and experience required for the Head of Sales role**:

- At least 10 years’ commercial experience within the Publishing and Events arena
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a successful and high performing sales team
- Ability to build and recruit a successful team, identifying talent
- Experience within Training and Development, 1:1’s, appraisals, managing, coaching and mentoring the sales team across all brands
- Proven track record of success demonstrating the achievement of business objectives
- Extensive knowledge and experience of B2B media across all mediums (display, events, digital and custom)
- Strong commercial experience
- Extensive experience in Account Management
- Excellent Stakeholder management and the ability to communicate at all levels
